Marina Esmaile (1992) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, born in Rio de Janeiro and living in Portugal since 2022, where she completed a Master’s degree in Industrial and Product Design at the University of Porto.
Her research focused on the impact of textile artefacts on the emotional and physical comfort of neurodivergent people. She is currently seeking to expand this
research into the fields of fine arts, accessories and fashion, as well as speculative design.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from UFRJ and, after several professional experiences in the field, made a career transition to the fashion industry six years ago. Her most recent industry experience includes FARM Rio, where she worked for nearly five years as a design lead in the Knitwear and Denim departments.
She has also worked as a bags and accessories designer at Seanite, in textile print cataloguing for La Estampa EU, and for four years ran her own brand focused on carnival costumes and accessories, called Chica Bacana.
